Each June for 1 week, the club's energies are devoted to hosting The Surbiton Trophy and there is a very special atmosphere at the ground. This is a chance to see some of the world's top tennis players in action. It is one of the club's major activities and brings much prestige, revenue and interest to the club.
The club's appearance changes dramatically with the erection of seating, a large marquee for refreshments and entertainment and other features associated with a professional tennis tournament. We always hope to attract TV and press coverage.
Members are pleased to offer their services during the week to help run the event. Volunteers are always needed, whether it be driving players to and from the club, car parking, helping spectators to their seats or one of the many other tasks needed. If you want to help, contact the club.
Hosting the event does mean that tennis courts, squash courts and changing rooms are unavailable to members during the daytime. Members can gain free entry to the grounds before finals day and enjoy the tennis.
